Neurotransformations

The Ki-Atsu Neurotransformations program is a 160 hour, 16 credit course taught over a 20 day period that is designed to provide students who are graduates of an accredited massage therapy program or licensed massage therapists with training in bodywork, somatic emotional releases, and movement. Upon completion of the program the student will be able to offer to clients a ten-session package designed to improve the client’s posture and movement, as well as physical, emotional, and spiritual well being.

The Neurotransformations program will teach the student techniques from many different modalities such as the 5 element theory and Chinese Meridians, NLP techniques, Pilates and Yoga Asanas, and therefore teach the student to view a client through the perspective of many different paradigms.

Students will learn about viewing the body utilizing the paradigms of the Tensegrity Model of Richard Buckminister Fuller, and Myofascial Planes. Students will learn to assess client’s movement in relationship to gravity, how to identify where compensation may be occurring, the reason compensation is occurring, and the best technique to release the reason for the compensation. Students will learn about the Mind/Emotion/Body connection and learn several techniques to address issues that have developed in a client that is disrupting that connection.

The Ki-Atsu Institute of Healing Arts is an accredited organization of the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodyworkers for providing continuing education to massage therapists. The Neurotransformations course has been submitted to NCBTMB to allow the hours to be used by participants who are nationally certified to be eligible to be used to meet continuing education requirements.

Class Description

The Ki-Atsu Neurotransformations class is a one hundred sixty hour class requiring 20 classroom days to complete. The class is designed to provide the student with the training and techniques to identify limiting factors that have been solidified in a client’s physical body, by learning to look for, and feel for blockages stored in the tissues.

The student will also learn to identify blockages locked and solidified as truths in the mind, by examining belief systems that no longer serve the client, but that the client continues to replay in his or her life over and over again. The student will also identify energetic blockages that may have solidified in the client’s energetic field by examining the luminous body explored through the Chakras. By understanding the intricate communication system of the physical/emotional/spiritual bodies, the student can communicate using the correct channels, and make the necessary adjustments in order to return the client to his or her most functional state.

Students will learn concepts used from viewing the body with the Tensegrity Model developed by Richard Buckminster Fuller. The class will further examine how the forces of gravity, and ground reaction force affects us, as three dimensional spiraling beings.

The student will seek to understand the source of the pattern, whether physical, emotional or spiritual. By understanding how the body spirals down onto itself in relationship to gravity, the student will look to understand the relationship it has created with another part of itself. The pattern of compensation is soon revealed, and it becomes clearer as to how the forces have been translated through the body.

The primary objective of the course is to bring the physical body into better alignment so that a better neutral may be experienced, and the forces around the client are easily translated through the joints. This will allow the client to experience himself or herself in the present moment, as the fully integrated physical/ spiritual beings that he or she is.

The student will learn to conduct a ten session series with the client, which will allow the student to address the client’s specific needs and address those needs with the appropriate technique.
